How To Submit the Prehab App For HSA/FSA Reimbursement

We’re excited to announce that the process for using a health savings account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for the Prehab App as a qualified medical expense is that much easier! We’ve partnered with TrueMed to facilitate this process. They will help you obtain a letter of medical necessity, which will assist with making the Prehab App eligible for HSA/FSA use!

After a short survey to help ensure eligibility, TrueMed will provide you with a letter of medical necessity and directions for submitting reimbursement at a cost of $15. This letter of medical necessity will be valid for 12 months, which you will submit in addition to your receipt of payment for the Prehab App to get reimbursed by your HSA/FSA provider.

You could be reimbursed up to ~$60 for the Prehab App! Thats a 30% discount ANNUALLY on the Prehab App if you do this process yearly!

Steps to saving $ for HSA/FSA account holders

  1. Click here to fill out a 2-minute survey to find out if you’re eligible!
  2. If eligible and upon payment, TrueMed will email you a letter of medical necessity (valid for 12 months) to utilize for HSA/FSA eligibility
  3. Click here to sign up for the Prehab App
  4. Once you have paid for the Prehab App and received your letter - follow TrueMed’s instructions and submit your Prehab App purchase receipt and TrueMed’s letter of Medical Necessity to your HSA/FSA administrator to obtain reimbursement from your HSA/FSA Funds!

Do I have to get a letter of medical necessity for HSA vs. FSA? Do I have to get it first before paying for the Prehab App?

  • There are differences noted HERE between HSA & FSA accounts, but in both cases, we do encourage you to get a Letter of Medical Necessity annually to ensure that the purchase of a Prehab App membership is eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement!
  • HSAs tend to be more flexible compared to FSAs. As an HSA account holder - you may or may not need a letter of medical necessity in general, and you may not need it before paying for the Prehab App.
  • FSA eligibility on the other hand typically requires a letter of medical necessity before payment of essential medical care items for them to qualify.
  • In both cases, we encourage you to go through the process with TrueMed as it makes your life easier, otherwise, you will need to follow up with your account administrator.

Can I pay with my HSA/FSA card?

  • Many customers have asked if they can pay for the Prehab App with their HSA/FSA card after getting approved by TrueMed.
  • In most cases, the answer is no for both HSA/FSA members as the card is likely to get rejected. Customers can try switching to their HSA card as their payment method once they receive their LMN from TrueMed. But we encourage you contact your HSA/FSA administrator to see if this is possible.
  • The easiest path is to use and keep your credit card as payment and manually reimburse following these instructions.

More about the [P]rehab & TrueMed Partnership

After surveying our community - we learned that prehabbers found it to be frustrating (and complicated) trying to use their HSA or FSA funds for essential medical care items that should qualify. That's why we're working with TrueMed - a company devoted to driving HSA/FSA spending to products that are rooted in science to improve overall health (like our services).

TrueMed will handle all the intricacies of using your HSA/FSA funds on your behalf, making the entire checkout process seamless and hassle-free.

If at any point you have trouble with reimbursement or have any questions about the process, you can direct them to us at Support@theprehabguys.com or the TrueMed support team at support@truemed.com. In addition, some users have asked legal/compliance questions. We have a document outlining answers to those questions here.
